Day 61 - Exterior Walls Up

It's day 61 and the exterior walls have been completed and most of the interior walls too. Today the crew started on the garage and it will go up tomorrow. 

Day 60 - Walls Going Up!

It's day 60 and there was a lot of activity at the lot today. The city crew came today to connect our water. They shut down the road so they could dig on each side of the street and bore the line under the street. The rough crew started the day by finishing the walk-out, floor joists, subfloor and started our exterior walls. Today was the first day at the lot where you could really vision the house. And what a great 3-year anniversary gift it was!

Day 58 - Framing begins

It's Monday (day 58) and our rough carpentry crew arrived this morning to begin framing! They started the day off by setting our steel beams and steel poles in the basement. They then started framing the walkout basement wall. This week should be pretty exciting at the lot with the house frame coming up! 

Day 55 - lumber delivered

It's day 55 and the lumber used for our walkout and subfloor has been delivered to the lot. On Monday our carpentry team will begin by setting the steel beams and poles in the basement. Then they will begin building the walkout wall and then moving to our subfloor. We are so excited to see our house come together!

The rest of our lumber should start trickling in next week!!

Day 53 - carpenter found!

It's day 53 and we have finally found our carpenter. Tomorrow we will have the rough lumber delivered and the carpenter will start on Monday. The carpenter will start by setting the steel and then work on the walkout wall.

Day 48 - Garage Filled

I am happy to say that the outside drain tile is complete... Although we still have to complete the inside drain tile before the basement floor is poured. Since the outside is done, we have been busy backfilling around the sides of the basement. Our garage walls were poured last week. The thicker garage footings, thicker walls, and more steel makes our garage super strong. Between yesterday and today we have had 7 loads of crushed concrete delivered for our garage. My dad and uncle helped load the concrete into the garage hole. Everything is starting to come together -- so excited!
