The start of a driveway

We have begun creating a temporary driveway so construction vehicles can get in and out easily. Because of the ditch, we needed a culvert... 

Here is John before we rolled it in. 

Alex (John's cousin, aka the builder on our documents) helped deliver our crushed limestone to put on top of the culvert pipe. Now we can start having fill dirt delivered. 

Also, the building plans should be done in the beginning of the new year! So excited!

Our Beautiful Lot

After searching for almost two year, we finally found our lot -- 1 acre in Troy. 

John and I closed on the last Friday in October and we have been working on it every weekend since.

There are lots of trees to cut down in order to prepare for building in the spring. 

It is a lot of work but we are getting some help from Wilburn and Wendell!

When we bought the lot, it was a forest... 

Now we have a path cleared to the back and most of the house area cleared. 

Here is some of our progress so far...
