Day 1 - Ground Breaking!!

The day has finally come! After a year of planning and all if the headaches, we have finally broke ground. Today the excavator came with his big machinery and ripped out all of the tree stumps. You can imagine that was a big task as our lot used to be a forest. Along with the roots, the excavator took off the top soil and vegetation. His semi was filled 7 times and taken to my dad's shop which really helped us out.

Ooh and our porta potty was delivered today. 

Next Step: Trench for utilities and hole for basement foundation along with trenched footings. Stay tuned!

Breaking Ground... Very Soon

Well, the time is finally here! The excavator should be out next week to begin removing all of our tree stumps and  then digging our basement hole. Our porta potty is being delivered on Monday and Miss Dig says we are clear to break ground that day. 

I am getting so excited! Let's build this thing already!!
